Paul Osier

Game Director and Producer for Mobile/Desktop Apps and other Visual Experiences

Over the past 15 years I’ve created over 100 games for household brands like Disney, Hot Wheels, Speed Racer, Transformers, Nickelodeon, MTV, Warner Brothers, etc. Running a small game studio means wearing several hats. Here is a condensed version of what I do…

Something from nothing
On the creative side, game design is very rewarding. It all starts with generating ideas…lots of ideas. These ideas form a vision that will eventually be developed into a playable game.

Plan
Next a plan of action is developed in the form of a Game Design Document. All aspects of the game are detailed including aesthetics, gameplay, UI wireframes, milestones, etc.

Design
Create the overall look and feel of the game and user interface. This also includes how the game will work and play down to maps and level design.

Manage
Lead team of programmers, artists and animators throughout the entire production process. Communicate with clients and make sure project runs smoothly and on time.

Code
As Dirty Harry once said, “A man’s got to know his limitations”. I don’t code. I rely on professionals and have forged great relationships with talented developers who can code any type of game.

Sound Design
Often overlooked, sound design is crucial for creating the right mood. Proper music and sound effects go hand in hand with great design and gameplay.

Deploy
Wrapping up development includes polishing, balancing and testing. Once finalized, it’s time to deploy on the chosen platform (mobile, web, etc) and send it out to the world!
